Some meals nourish more than just your body. They nourish communities. They create connection. They give back.
From 2–15 October 2025, celebrated Bundjalung woman, chef and author Mindy Woods is teaming up with Sydney’s Song Kitchen to launch the inaugural Supper Series: Purposeful Plates — a two-week menu where 100% of profits go directly to YWCA Australia community projects and First Nations initiatives.

This means every dish you enjoy doesn’t just fill your plate. It fills a need. It creates space for women and gender diverse people to access housing, services, and pathways that can change the course of their lives.
Why It Matters
At One Another, we believe when you do good, you feel good. And this collaboration embodies that belief perfectly.

Song Hotel and Song Kitchen are run as profit-for-purpose venues. Every dollar spent in their dining room or hotel goes back into the community through YWCA’s programs. In the past year alone, that has meant:
- 170,000+ nights of safe housing provided
- 6,400+ people supported through vital services
- 600+ individuals given a home when they needed one most
Mindy Woods, recently recognised with the 2025 Champions of Change Award by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, is a proud Bundjalung woman who champions First Nations food sovereignty. Her philosophy? Food should connect us — to culture, to each other, and to the land we live on.

As Mindy shared:
“These aren’t just hospitality spaces, these venues exist to nurture meaningful connections, celebrate diverse stories, and amplify voices that are often overlooked.”
A Menu That Connects
The native-infused menu Mindy has crafted is more than a culinary experience — it’s a celebration of Australia’s oldest continuous food culture. Every flavour is a story, every ingredient an invitation to connect.
Highlights include:
- Johnny Cakes with paperbark smoked butter
- Crispy Saltbush with bush tomato mayo
- Chargrilled Prawns with saltbush garlic butter + finger lime
- Twice Cooked Beef Rib with ooray (native plum) glaze, green papaya salad & native nam jim
- Native Seafood Curry with warrigal greens + crispy fish wing
- Dark Chocolate Mousse Tart with quandong caramel
I had the privilege of tasting the menu and it’s nothing short of extraordinary. Native Australian ingredients like saltbush, finger lime and ooray need to be heroed more — not as a novelty, but as an essential part of who we are and the stories we share at the table.

Why We’re Celebrating This
This collaboration is about so much more than food. It’s about:
✨ Celebrating First Nations knowledge and culture
✨ Supporting women and gender diverse people in need
✨ Creating a community around kindness and connection
At One Another, we often say that kindness is contagious. With every plate served at Song Kitchen this October, that ripple of kindness grows stronger — from the chef, to the diner, to the communities supported by YWCA.
So, if you’re looking for a night out that’s not just memorable but meaningful, this is it. A meal that tastes good, does good, and feels good.
👉 Purpose on a plate. Connection at the table. Community at the heart.
