OneAnother.Community was born from a simple truth: people need people. In a world that’s more connected than ever yet lonelier than it has ever felt, we set out to create a space where kindness becomes an everyday practice, not an afterthought. What started as a grassroots idea – a platform that helps people show up for one another in small, meaningful ways – has grown into a purpose-led movement empowering individuals, workplaces and communities to reconnect.

Founded by Lisa Hollinshead after witnessing loneliness and disconnection rise around her, OneAnother brings together technology, storytelling and human connection to make doing good feel easy, accessible and instinctive. Our hybrid model blends smart SaaS tools with real-world support, offering everything from micro-volunteering and team-building kindness events to purpose discovery workshops and community activations.

Today, OneAnother exists to remind people that kindness is a catalyst – for wellbeing, for culture, for belonging. Our Story

As a change-maker and communicator with a background in PR and Marketing, she was a natural ambassador for the cause. Lisa called out 250 volunteers donating over 25k hours and $1million in value to build the OneAnother mobile platform, created in the pandemic for a post-pandemic world and beyond.

Chris was on his own journey with a heart to make mental-health-related resources accessible. He realised volunteering rates were plummeting and loneliness was sky rocketing. He developed '3Helps', whose mission 'To make volunteering easy' and turn intention into action aligned beautifully with Lisa's mission.

Chris' passion for mental health, paired with his love for a challenge saw him go through the Sydney hyper accelerator program, which he self-funded. Backed by an award-winning sales background (including being voted the Best Media Sales Rep of 2017 across all media platforms, Mediacom), Chris finds there's no greater challenge than understanding what it takes to launch and scale a social impact tech company.

Lisa and Chris feel destiny brought them together, being aligned in finding a practical solution to disconnection and loneliness, by making frequent acts of kindness easy. Joining forces was a no-brainer. This became the foundation for the launch of OA version 2.0. Backed by our incredible team, the collective vision for our platform to scale social impact for happier, healthier communities across the globe is now gaining exciting traction. We can't wait to watch the future change for good. Because we believe everyone needs to connect with OneAnother.

OneAnother is a story of connection, for connection. After meeting on a capital table raising webinar, it seemed destined for our Co-Founders lives to cross paths. Lisa and Chris had a serendipitous moment finding they had a connection via a book called Lost Connections and that each other were both on the same mission to reduce loneliness. Author Johann Hari said it best: in recent years, we have left our tribes and lost many of our connections. “Loneliness isn’t the physical absence of other people, he said—it’s the sense that you’re not sharing anything that matters with anyone else.

Lisa's journey began when she was stranded in Spain at the beginning of the pandemic. The realisation of how many people were isolated without help really hit home as she was visiting her 89 year-old grandmother, knowing how hard it would have been if Lisa wasn't there to provide help. The idea for OneAnother was born - a smarter, more efficient way to match those who want to help, to those who need it, in their local community.
